Ogun LG Elections: Alebiosu, Diya, Return Thanks To God For Election Victories 



The newly elected Chairmen for the Ijebu-Ode and Odogbolu Local Governments, Dare Alebiosu and Dr Babatunde Diya respectively have attributed their landslide victory in Saturday Local Government elections to the support of the Almighty God and rock-solid backing of members of the All Progressives Congress in the local governments.

Alebiosu and Diya disclosed this while speaking separately over the successful conduct of the election as well as the 100 percent victory recorded by the ruling party.

Speaking with journalists over election at Ijebu-Ode, Alebiosu affirmed that he had trusted God for his victory given the party's vigorous and issue-based campaign before the election.

He said "It's for a known fact that the victories of the All Progressives Congress candidates across the state are no doubt certain, it's what we fought for and and our production of unrelenting efforts.

"I return all glory and the victory back to God who made it possible for us, I have been in the race some time now, this is a testimonial to my long time aspirations in becoming the chairman of my own local government.

"I once again thank all my supporters, party leaders in different capacities that have stood by me and worked day and night to ensure that our party return to power to continue its good works at the grassroots.

"I am assuring everyone that their labour and efforts to get this deserved victory for our party and myself as the flag bearer wouldn't go in vain.

"I have been there as the immediate past Vice-Chairman of the local government, I know what our people want and that is what we shall do to make life a lot more comfortable for the people at the grassroots.

"It is time to regig our commitment to the development of our local government in line with building our future together agenda of our principal, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the governor of Ogun State".

In the same vein, the newly elected chairman of Odogbolu local government, Hon. Babatunde Diya while speaking to newsmen at Tanimowo lodge in Odogbolu, said that he was grateful to God and the people of the local government for rallying round him for the victory recorded during the election.

Diya said, "Let me begin by appreciating God for how far he has helped us, the election has gone very successfully and peacefully, the OGSEIC has done so well, our expectations have remained unshaken because we have carried out a vigorous campaign across all the 15 Wards.

"The state Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has provided workable template through the use of ISEYA mantra, there is the strong belief that the outcome of the just concluded elections would undoubtedly favour all candidates of the All Progressives Congress across the state".

Speaking on his disposition to the development of Odogbolu local government, Diya posited that he has for some years through 'Dr Babatunde Diya's Foundation Initiative been adding values to the lives of the people of the local via lots of interventions and support.

He said that it his top priority for to spare no effort to fast track the development of the local government and build on the selfless contributions of his late father, Gen Oladipo Diya (rtd) a one time second in command during the military regime.

Diya explained that "Our foundation has been attending to various commitments such as education, health wise among others, so it is only to scale it up, although the LGA can only take care of primary and some party of secondary education; there are plans on pupil's nutrition, a lot of people think of infrastructure, but we consider nutrition more because if a child is not properly fed, how can such pupils  concentrate on their studies?"

"We also have plan on healthcare infrastructure improvement, we hope to bring in the best personnel, Doctors, community healthcare workers, training more hands towards achieving the best healthcare services among other necessary amenities are in pipe line as our agenda for the new Odogbolu local government under my watch".

Hon. Ogunbanwo, the House of Representatives member representing Odogbolu, Ijebu-Ode and Ijebu North-East affirmed that the victories of the All Progressives Congress across the state is assured as God himself has ordained it.

Ogunbanwo said "I want to seize the golden opportunity to appreciate all our supporters, voters and leaders in Ijebu-Ode, Odogbolu and Ijebu North-East local governments areas of the state, particularly our hardworking Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, I pray our brand new chairmen's tenure in office shall be a blessing to their respective communities".
