De Potter college of Health Technology km2, Oru/Ijebu-Igbo Road OruIjebu, Ogun State is set to hold the 1st convocation Ceremony and 10th year Anniversary of the college.
This is contained in a press release by the provost/CEO of the Health institution Dr Adeware O.G. According to the release various activities have been mapped out for the week long programme which takes off on Friday 1st December 2023 with the anniversary Jumat service. This is to be followed byCorporate Social Responsibility and Medical Outreach to Ijebu-Igbo, Awa, Oru and Ago-Iwoye on Saturday 2nd December 2023.
Other activities lined up for the epoch making event include Anniversary Thanksgiving service on Sunday 3rd December at the college Auditorium as well as Inter-Departmental games for the Finals of Provost Cup Scheduled for Monday 4th December 2023
Highlight of the anniversary programme comes up on Wednesday 6th December at the college ceremonial ground for the 1stConvocation lecture and 10th Anniversary Book Launch. The college Convocation ceremony comes up on Thursday 7th December 2023 while the programme would be rounded off with 10th Anniversary Gala Night and Award Ceremony at the college Ceremonial Ground on Friday 8th December 2023.
Concluding Dr. Adeware the Provost/CEO of the college informed that necessary steps have been taken to ensure a hitch free programme.
COLLEGE PROFILE
De Potter College of Health Technology is a privately owned College of Health Technology duly and fully registered with Corporate Affairs Commission and approved by the Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
The College, is accredited by the Community Health Practitioner’s Board of Nigeria (to run All Community Health Courses), Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (to run Health Information Management Programme) West African Health Examination Board and Environmental Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN, to run Medical Laboratory Technician Programme), Pharmacist Council of Nigeria (PCN, to run Pharmacy Technician Programme) and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
The College offers medical training for prospective health workers in Community Health, Environmental Health, Public Health, Medical Laboratory, Pharmacy Technician and Health Information Management. The training is available to fresh secondary school graduates (who are interested in health-related courses), graduate who desire further training in health disciplines, as well as in-service students and other persons with health related qualifications. The high demand for medical personnel of all cadres in the Nigeria Health Sector makes the training not only worthwhile but challenging, deeply fulfilling and profitable.
The college offers standard laboratories which satisfy the requirements of the curriculum and a stocked library that has passed the acid test of accreditation teams, a library which eases the book needs of the students as well as spacious and well-ventilated classrooms which support the tedious work required for the medical filed to guide the student through research, both paper-based and online as well as community diagnosis. The college e-library with modern computers and internet facilities is also complementary. Apart from the strictly academic matters, the school devoted time for the well-being of its students. Hostel facilities are provided for students who are interested and social amenities are adequate. Other events like sports day, Fresher’s day, SUG activities and Health Week all complement the teaching and learning process.
The college is managed by seasoned tutors and administrators. The student of the school receives at the minimum, the same quality of training as is available to the students of Health institutions in Nigeria.
Employment is also more assured since they will receive the certificates from regulatory board/councils and also receive all the benefits that accrue to the qualification and the certification.
De Potter College of Health Technology has raised the bar so high that even the teachers understand the standard and work hard to achieve it knowing quite well that health related matters are not often the type to give a second chance. Appropriate training is required to fulfil the school mission, which is to “re-define lost hope”.
It is also in pursuance of this goal that the college has a number of students running on scholarships. Despite providing the better services, fees at De Potter are affordable and relatively cheaper than those offered by competitors.
The admission process for the 2023/2024 session has commenced. Intending candidates are free to come to the school to obtain entry forms. The school is located along the road from Oru-Ijebu heading to Ijebu-Igbo town in Ogun State in a location very conspicuous to travelers along that route.

Requirement: Three (3) Credit passes in English, Mathematics, Biology and passes in two (2) other subjects at not more than two (2) sittings.
