We would visit them and do our oversight function and they would tell us where they need us to help them so as to provide more effective services. Moreso, we have different programmes to put in place to improve different services.

What are you doing concerning freedom of journalists in discharging their duty?

First and foremost, I would like to commend the good job of  journalists in Ogun State, you all are doing  good job. We are planning on sponsoring bills to protect the interest of journalists and also to improve the remuneration being received at the moment, which would encourage you all to be more proactive, efficient and effective during the course of discharging your duties which would be communicated as when due.

On a final do you think there's freedom of Information (FOI)?

I don't know about other states, but in Ogun State we don't hide information and even  before now, the Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oluomo Taiwo Olakunle was on live radio at Sweet FM 107.1 on 2nd of August, 2019 to give information about activities in the house to make sure our people are adequately informed about the ongoing activities in the house.
