....Kwara Governor challenges youths
The national summit of the youth assembly of Nigeria (YAN) with theme: "Transforming Education" held in the ancient city of Ilorin was a huge success.
The summit which took place yesterday Saturday 17th day of August 2019 at the Banquet hall, Government house, Ilorin, Kwara state had the executive governor of Kwara state; Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in attendance as the special guest of honour. Also in attendance were the Tafida of Ilorin; Dr. Aluko Amuda OFR as chairman of the summit, the Vice chancellor of Kwara state University; Prof. Sakah Mahmud as the guest speaker, the YAN national Patron and keynote speaker; Hon. Ugwumba Uche Nwosu who was ably represented by the YAN national speaker; Rt.Hon. Samuel Godstime Chukwubuikem.
Speaking to youths at the summit, the Executive Governor of Kwara state ably represented by the deputy governor of Kwara state; Pst. Kayode Alabi charged youths to be good ambassadors of Nigeria. He further said that youths have all it takes to transform education by using their votes which is over 64% of the nations electorates to win a good number of leadership seats in Nigeria so as to join the circle of policy makers in Nigeria at all levels.
The YAN national patron; Ugwumba Uche Nwosu in his keynotes address thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for ensuring that Nigeria stepped forward in the United nation's education system assessment report against her position in 2014. Others who were in attendance are the former military governor of Taraba state, the secretary to the government of Kwara state, the speaker of Kwara state house of Assembly ably represented by the clerk of Kwara state house of assembly, the permanent secretary of the ministry of youths and sports development, the permanent secretary ministry of Education, 36 states youth Ambassadors of YAN, LGA coordinators of YAN in Kwara state and youth delegates from across the states of the federation.
YAN national speaker; Rt.Hon. Samuel Godstime Chukwubuikem and his deputy; Rt.Hon. Shuaibu Sani who spoke to newsmen maintained that Nigerian youths are ready to serve and have grown passed the "street revolution approach" for acquisition of power but diplomatic approach of attaining reputable heights through venturing into contests, enhancing unity amongst youths and Nigerians at large and equipping self with education and good deeds (character).
The host of YAN summit Ilorin 2019 and Speaker of YAN kwara state chapter; Amb. Musbaudeen Esinrogunjo thanked the Kwara state government for supporting YAN and wished his colleague youth ambassadors safe journey back to their respective states.
