Giwa Egbe Obayori Okunrin Akile Ijebu "Kuye", Giwa Alhaji Suraju Lasisi has congratulated Christians on the successful completion of the Lent and Easter celebration.
“This period, let us imbibe the teachings of Christ who brought salvation to mankind. Christmas celebration calls for love, solidarity, cooperation, forgiveness and deep reflection as it brings about a moment where mankind was given the opportunity of salvation to reconcile with our creator".
"I therefore call on members of Egbe and the Christian community, to reflect on the lessons of easter and translate same to everyday event in our lives,” the Giwa said in a statement issued by the Publicity secretary of the Egbe, Comrade Akeem Temitope Akilo.
“I call on all our members to be one another’s brothers and to relate with one another on the basis of common brotherhood, love and generosity.”
Giwa also said, "we can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves. I do not want the peace that passeth understanding. I want the understanding which bringeth peace".
