Senate President, Bukola Saraki announced that the Senate has adjourned its Plenary for two months.
This was a prayer sought by other Senators who were infuriated by the invasion of the house of the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu and Senate President, Bukola Saraki by various security operatives.
The Senate had a 30-minute break to fine-tune its plans to have plenary suspended till the 25th of September.
The Nigerian Police Force had laid siege on Saraki’s home earlier today, allegedly in a bid to prevent him from making his way to the floor of the Green chambers where he eventually presided over the defection of fifteen Senators away from the ruling party, APC.
Ekweremadu’s home was also mobbed by officers of the Department of State Services, DSS and Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Recall that Saraki was asked to report to the Police Headquarters today for further clarification and questioning over his alleged involvement in the Offa banks robbery.
