Over 30 APC Reps Members Defect To  PDP



Over thirty (30) members of the House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Nigeria’s ruling party have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, Nigeria’s main opposition party.

The notice of defection was contained in a letter read by the speaker of the house, Yakubu Dogara on the floor of the lower legislative chamber on Tuesday, July 24.

The APC lawmakers cited “factionalisation and division” in the ruling party as their reason for leaving.

News Waka Now Blog reports that the development is coming few hours after fifteen (15) APC senators moved to PDP.

The notice of defection was contained in a letter read by Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki on the floor of the upper legislative chamber on Tuesday, July 24.

Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso representing Kano central at the Nigerian Senate were among the fifteen (15) senators that announced their defection on Tuesday.
