The National Rescue Movement (NRM), has vowed to eliminate the money politics in the country by slashing the money that would be paid by its members for expression of interest and nomination forms for elective positions in the 2019 general elections.
Describing cost of party nomination forms as expensive.
National Chairman of the party, Senator Saidu Dansadau, who described as expensive, the money charged by political parties for nomination forms, stated this at the launching of #NotTooPoorToRun campaign in Abuja on Monday.
The National Chairman said that money should not be a factor in contesting elections in the country, adding that credibility, acceptability and fear of God should be paramount in the electioneering process.
“Why should each contestant pay N25m? That is incredible. Political party is not for sale, the business of parties is to serve people”
He noted that aspirants on the platform of the party will purchase forms at a very cheap rate to make it affordable.
According to him, Presidential, governorship, Senatorial, Houses of Representative and State Assembly aspirants will pay N250,000, N200,000, N150,000, N100,000 and N50,000 respectively.while speaking the presidential Aspirant under NRM Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu said if elected as president of Nigeria come 29 may 2019 he pursue people oriented policy, he promise,to Tackle, Security, health, Education &Youth Empowerment power ,Agricultural revolution and Economy & Digital Anti corruption.
