No fewer than fifteen (15) senators under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Nigeria’s ruling party have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, Nigeria’s main opposition party.
The notice of defection was contained in a letter read by Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki on the floor of the upper legislative chamber on Tuesday, July 24.
Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West and Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso representing Kano central at the Nigerian Senate were among the fifteen (15) senators that announced their defection on Tuesday.

The massive defection of the lawmakers means the ruling APC is now a minority party in the Nigerian Senate.
