Make discipline a way of life, Kashamu counsels @ Eid el Fitri

As Muslims across the world mark Eld el Fitri, the lawmaker representing Ogun East Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Buruji Kashamu has urged Muslim Ummah and Nigerians in general to take advantage of the spiritual rebirth that Ramadan represents to make discipline and chastity a way of life

“Nigerians should use this important celebration to reflect on virtues such as faith, hope, peace and love which Ramadan represents,’’ the lawmaker said in an Eid el Fitri message made from his Ijebu Igbo country home, Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

“Ramadan is a time for chastity, spiritual reflection and purification. It is also one of the five Pillars of Islam, with the other pillars being faith, prayer, charity and making the holy pilgrimage to Mecca.

“It is only when we, as Nigerians fully imbibe the lessons of Ramadan and live in peace and harmony that we can strengthen the bond that brought us together as a nation,” Senator Kashamu said.

The lawmaker enjoined all Nigerians, particularly the Muslim faithful, to use the opportunity of the end of the Ramadan period to pray for the peace, progress and prosperity of Ogun East Senatorial District, Ogun State and Nigeria at large.
