RCCG COMPLETES 100 DAYS OF FASTING - ‘Nigeria’s Destiny Would Be Determined By It’, Says Adeboye

T he Redeemed Christian Church of God has completed their 100 days fasting and prayer programme. The exercise which began on Thursday, January 2, 2014 came to an end on Friday, April 11, 2014 with a powerful all night praise and worship service at all their provincial headquarters and area headquarters. Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of the church, had ordered all members to make their choices as regards the arrangement put in place for the fasting. For instance (choice 1), fast for 100 days and break daily at 6pm; (choice 2), take only liquid while fasting for 30 days, which is an equivalent of the complete 100 days; (choice 3) take only liquid while fasting for 21 days; equivalent of 63 days of the 100 days; (choice 4), take only liquid while fasting for 14 days (This is equivalent to one month of the 100-days and (choice 5), take liquid while fasting for 7 days (equivalent of 14 days of the 100-days). The fasting, according to the humble and respected man of God, was necessitated by his 2014 prediction, which he claimed, will determine the future of Nigeria. In his words: “Many people are of the opinion that 2015 would chart a new course for the nation. But 2015 will be mere formality”. He also added that major breakthroughs in medicine and sciences would be recorded and asked for prayers against highly destructive storms and monumental fire outbreaks in the country. YES INTERNATIONAL! spoke with one of the aides to Daddy G.O, as he is fondly called, Pastor Olukunmi Oyewale and he shed more light on the programme: “Daddy already declared that 2014 will determine the destiny of Nigeria and many other Nigerians. If you go through his 2014 predictions, you will know what I'm talking about. This fasting and prayer is our preparedness for God's plan over our lives and the course of this nation. Baba cannot order all Nigerians to pray for 100 days to chart the course and destiny of the nation, but he has charged his members to do it for Nigeria. He said one of the benefits of the fasting and prayer is also to deal with strangers in our individual lives; strangers in all ramifications and people are already glorifying the goodness of the Lord”. On Daddy G.O's stand on any member who misses any of the days, aside those exempted, Pastor Olukunmi said: “He already said if anyone misses any of the 100 days, he would have to revisit it with two more extra days”. But the exercise which may thought was impossible has finally come to an end and in appreciation to God, Daddy G.O said all parties should gather in either their provincial or area headquarters to offer praises unto God, for the grace, strength, blessings, and in anticipations of more blessings.
Meanwhile, a visit to some of the provincial and area headquarters of RCCG on Friday, April 11, 2014 night saw many of them in praise and thanksgiving. The choirs were at their best. The auditoria shook to their foundations as many sang and danced and rejoiced.
